I have to relay this story my sister told me about my nephews …
Max and Jude are two and a half, and pretty typical for their age in most things. Obviously, I think they are two of the most amazing human beings to ever live on this earth, but I recognize that I might be just a little bit biased. In this case, however, my pride is totally justified. How many two year old’s do you know who can play practical jokes? Granted, they come by this honestly on both sides of their family, but I’m still just so proud of them!
My brother-in-law, Chad, brought the boys home from the park the other day. Once inside, Chad realized he needed to let the dog out, and since they just moved into a new house without a fence, someone has to go outside with the dog. So Chad left Max & Jude standing by the stairs, told them he’d be right back, and told them to stay there and take off their shoes. I can guarantee you the boys understood those instructions perfectly.
A few minutes later, Chad came back in the house, to find the boys right by the stairs where he left them … looking very satisfied with themselves … and wearing nothing but their shoes and big ole grins! (well, okay, they’d left their diapers on).
My only regret is that I wasn’t there to witness it.
