If It’s Not One Thing, It’s Your Mother May 30, 2008

Major props to my sister for sending me the link to this site … Postcards From Yo Momma.

It’s full of unintentionally hilarious mom correspondence … I think almost all of us can point to similar examples from our own moms.

Like last summer, when I was on the phone with my mom right before heading out for a trail run. She said she had something very important to tell me, so I braced myself. And then she said, “wear sunscreen and bring a jacket.”

Or when I talked to her a few hours after I finished Hog’s Hunt 50k, and she chose that time to ask me if I wanted her crystal stemware and would I mind if she gave the piano to my sister.

And just this month her important advice was to only put shampoo on my roots and conditioner on my ends.

It cracks me up, it drives me nuts, and I wouldn’t trade it (or her) for anything. Thanks Mom. ;-)

Oh, and if Postcards From Yo Momma doesn’t do it for you, check out Overheard In The Office.

Yo, I resemble that remark. lol

My mom’s only comment (pretty much) about my Ironman was to ask if I’d be running in the dark, because that would be scary. She also announced that she had no interest in seeing any of it because she didn’t want to think about me out there.

    Thanks, Mom.
